Are you asking for a change similar to the one I did and commited to the
head in May?

The idea of the code generation being done seperately, and providing
pluggable support for multiple language implementations has been done.

Take a look at the CodeGenerator interface (in fact the implementations
might tell you more -- currently the javadoc of the code is pretty weak, I
might try and add some ;)).

Rob

Message Hi Mittie: Take a look at http://www.pushtotest.com/ptt for info on
TestMaker.

MaxQ in its current form is written to generate Jython scripts that use
Ronald's HTTPClient library in the JUnit style of functional tests. My
use of MaxQ modifies HttpObserver to generate Jython scripts that use
my TOOL library to generate a scalability and performance test. I'm
thinking that HttpObserver should be more generic so that we bundlers
of MaxQ can implement our custom code generation without having to
branch the proxy server code.

What do you think?

Message Hi Frank,

cool. I haven't looked into TestMaker, yet. Where do I find information?

What would the new interface offer in addition to the existing one?

cheers

Message Hi Dierk: I too have used MaxQ to add recording functions to my
TestMaker open-source project. My project uses Jython and a protocol
handler library called TOOL. It seems to me that maybe we should
contribute an interface to MaxQ that would let us add our own syntax to
MaxQ's output? Just a thought.

[maxq-dev] Canoo WebTest Generator

Message Hiall,

I'm about to write a maxq generator for http://webtest.canoo.com

To this end I needed to change the GeneratorFactory to read in the
properties as expected. To me it seemed not to work...

Second, I refactored the EditorPane not to deal with the http result
parsing on its own, but delegating it to an HttpResultParser.

Third, I extended the Generator Interface with a method that
makes the last http result available to the generator.
A default implementation is provided in the abstract superclass
such that other generator implementations are not affected.

As a maxq newbe I'm not sure about the procedure of committing.
Is there anybody to review my changes, or should I just
go for it?

cheers
Mittie
